Clinical Analysis of Replantation of Digits


Abstract
The incidence of hand injury increases steadily due to development of industrial activities, traffic accidents and complicated society.
Among the had injury, amputation is the serious disaster to the patient.
Recently, application of microsurgical technique to the reattachment of amputed digits has been common clinical procedures.
Authors report the replantation cases of figers and retrospective analysis of cases which were treated by the plastic surgery service from 1987 to 1992 at Chung Nam National University Hospital.
@ES The rusults are summarized as follows ;
@EN 1) Success rate : 69.5%
2) The most common affected digit in descending order of frequency are index, thumb, middle, ring, and little finger.
3) The main cause of injury were belt and press
4) The mean duration of ischemia was 8 hours 41 minutes.
5) The type of injury was the most major factor that have an effect on the result of replanation
6) Further, the point of replantation was not the success rate but the recovery of hand function.
